* We made a secret code and passed messages to each other.
* We started our individual conferences with several of the boys to go through AOL requirement 2. Here’s what is outstanding:
Dylan needs to work on requirement c.
William needs to be able do the explain portion of a & b and do c, d, and e.
Trevor needs to work on requirement b & c.
We didn’t make it to Stephen so he’ll need to go through all of 2.
Justin, Braxton and Hunter will need to do this next week.
Braxton also needs to go to a troop meeting on one of the next two Tuesday nights and have a discussion with the scoutmaster.

Homework:

* For homework you guys need to do requirement 7 at home with your boys and let me know you’ve had the discussion.
7. Complete the Honesty Character Connection.
a. Know: Say the Cub Scout Promise to your family. Discuss these questions with them. What is a promise? What does it mean to keep your word? What does it mean to be trustworthy? What does honesty mean?
b. Commit: Discuss these questions with your family. Why is a promise important? Why is it important for people to trust you when you give your word? When might it be difficult to be truthful? List examples.
c. Practice: Discuss with a family member why it is important to be trustworthy and honest. How can you do your best to be honest even when it is difficult?

* Be sure to mark your calendar for the Spaghetti supper the weekend of April 19-20. The boys (and any willing parents) will work on Saturday to prepare the noodles, sauce, etc and set up Ebenezer Community Center for the supper on Sunday lunch. This is the troop’s only fundraiser so it is important that it go well. Each boy will be required to sell 10 tickets for
the event. There is a planning meeting for willing parents at 3:00 this Sunday.
* In May we’ll have the first full campout for the boys with the troop. I believe we will be going backpacking /hiking at Panthertown Valley up in NC.
I think we will be backpacking about 1 mile in to the campsite and then on Saturday doing a significant hike through the valley. See attached map and guide or these links for information about the area:
